Before Your First Class

Before your first class, there are a few things you’ll want to make sure you’ve gotten or thought about:

MC1/CUNET Account: This is your Carleton email account and you’ll need it to log in to the classroom computers. If this hasn’t been setup for you yet, please contact ITS Service Desk at its.service.desk@carleton.ca.

Equipment Loans: If you need to borrow equipment for teaching and learning purposes, please complete our Equipment Loans form.

Classroom access: For regularly scheduled classes, classrooms should already be unlocked. If for any reason the room is locked, please contact the Department of Safety at 613-520-3612 or Facilities Management and Planning at 613-520-3668 to have the classroom opened.

Classroom Technology

We have permanently installed computers in our classrooms that can connect to a data projector. The machines are equipped with a variety of software to suit your needs. To discuss additional software requirements please call 613-520-3815.

Kaltura Classroom is installed on every classroom computer on campus and can be used for lecture recordings.

Wireless network coverage is available across a broad area of campus. Instructors, staff and students can access the wireless network using their MyCarletonOne account, while guests and affiliates can be issued temporary access by contacting the ITS Service Desk.

You can also find information specific to the room you’re teaching in by booking a one-on-one classroom orientation or by using our rooms search tool for technical information on the technology in your classroom.
