Alexis Luko

Alexis Luko has been at Carleton since 2009 and is cross-appointed with the School for Studies in Art and Culture and the College of Humanities.

Alexis uses real life experience to engage students in learning. She goes the extra mile by taking students on fieldtrips to musical performances in order to help them engage personally with music.

She is a fearless educator who is not afraid to experiment with different teaching styles to make music fun and accessible to everyone. This innovation and courage earned her a Carleton University Teaching Achievement Award, a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Teaching Award, and a New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award in 2012. In 2014, she was also a finalist for a Capital Educators’ Award.
