Evelyn Maedar became a faculty member of the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2008. She is also cross-appointed in the Department of Psychology.<\/p>\n
Evelyn studies the influence of psychology on the law and legal decision-making, particularly with respect to juries and public policy. She compliments this with an extensive research background in the effects of extralegal information, such as defendant race, victim attractiveness, and defendant gang affiliation, and how these characteristics can affect juror decision-making.<\/p>\n
Evelyn is the Director of the Legal Decision-Making Lab at Carleton University and her work is funded by national organizations, such as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.<\/p>\n
