But as challenging as it can be, designing sound assessments is critical to the success of your course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this workshop, you\u2019ll participate in activities that will enable you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Define the purpose of\u202fassessment and its place in\u202fthe course design process\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Differentiate between\u202fformative and summative\u202fassessments\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explain the core principles\u202fof sound assessment, &amp;\u202fsome strategies for\u202fimplementing them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create and explain an assessment plan for a learning outcome in one of your own courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll leave this session with refreshed ideas on a range of assessment principles and purposes, and an appreciation of the importance of designing assessment strategies as one of the first stages of course design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session is intended for all participants who are involved in designing learning experiences, in any delivery format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Space is limited.
