id=\"slideme-vr-experience-considerations\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review the VR experience in advance to determine the level of interactivity required (e.g., do users need to use both controllers? Is there much reading required to understand\/engage with the experience?)<\/li>\n<li>Select VR experiences that are less likely to trigger cybersickness. Experiences that involve virtual motion, such as drone footage or experiences that use smooth locomotion as a means of navigating the virtual space, tend to be most problematic. Choose videos that use still camera shots and experiences that use teleportation instead of smooth locomotion. If there are aspects to an experience that might trigger cybersickness, warn students in advance.<\/li>\n<li>Review the VR experience in advance to check for portrayals of marginalized groups. Consider if the experience is engaging in identity tourism.<\/li>\n<li>Keep VR experiences short (15-20 minutes maximum); allow for breaks.<\/li>\n<li>Sound is an essential part of many XR experiences, and ensuring that accommodations can be made for users with hearing impairments is a key part of XR accessibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-debrief-and-follow-up\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-debrief-and-follow-up\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Debrief and Follow Up<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-debrief-and-follow-up\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the experience includes difficult subject matter, build in time after the VR experience to debrief with students and support them in processing what they encountered.<\/li>\n<li>Get feedback from the students afterwards; What worked well?
