{"id":18353,"date":"2016-03-01T08:19:26","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T13:19:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/edc\/?p=18353"},"modified":"2021-08-13T10:13:26","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T14:13:26","slug":"carleton-awarded-funding-to-develop-13-new-online-courses-and-modules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/2016\/carleton-awarded-funding-to-develop-13-new-online-courses-and-modules\/","title":{"rendered":"Carleton awarded funding to develop 13 new online courses and modules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After submitting 34 proposals to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities&#8217; eCampusOntario initiative, Carleton has been awarded funding to complete 10 new online courses and three new modules.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the third call for proposals for eCampusOntario (formerly the Ontario Online Initiative), MTCU made $4.5 million available to Ontario universities to encourage online course development. Close to 350 proposals were submitted by 19 Ontario universities. Carleton faculty and staff were awarded the second-highest number of courses of all Ontario universities that submitted proposals this round.<\/p>\n<p>The new courses include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intermediate Programming (BIT)<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Computer Programming and Problem Solving (BIT)<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Indigenous Studies (INDG)<\/li>\n<li>Neurodegeneration and the Aging Brain (NEUR)<\/li>\n<li>Criminal Behaviour (PSYC)<\/li>\n<li>Organizational Psychology I (PSYC)<\/li>\n<li>Police Psychology (PSYC)<\/li>\n<li>Sport and Performance Psychology (PSYC)<\/li>\n<li>Benefit-Cost Analysis for Program Evaluation (PADM)<\/li>\n<li>Qualitative Research Methods in Evaluation (PADM)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new modules include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experiential Learning (Teaching and Learning Services)<\/li>\n<li>Open Learning (Teaching and Learning Services)<\/li>\n<li>Journalism Media Tools and Techniques (JOUR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Teaching and Learning Services will be working closely with instructors to develop these courses and modules for the 2016-17 academic year, in addition to a number of other blended and online courses across the university.<\/p>\n<p>The next call for proposals is expected in Fall 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After submitting 34 proposals to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities&#8217; eCampusOntario initiative, Carleton has been awarded funding to complete 10 new online courses and three new modules.
