Instructors at Carleton have a new way to enhance the learning experience for their students. This summer, Carleton officially adopted cuPortfolio as the university\u2019s electronic portfolio system, making it available to all students, staff and instructors.<\/p>\n
cuPortfolio is an online learning tool that students can use to record and showcase their academic and co-curricular experiences using rich multimedia content, such as images, videos and documents.<\/p>\n
The tool also encourages reflective thinking \u2013 students can make connections between different experiences they\u2019ve recorded in cuPortfolio and articulate the skills and knowledge they developed as a result.<\/p>\n
Additionally, students can use their portfolios when applying for a job to provide a potential employer with concrete evidence of their abilities and to set themselves out from the crowd with a unique application.<\/p>\n
During its three-year pilot phase, over 5,500 users accessed cuPortfolio in more than 150 classes. It was incorporated in a variety of courses in each of the five faculties at both the graduate and undergraduate level.<\/p>\n
