{"id":23565,"date":"2020-04-15T08:29:15","date_gmt":"2020-04-15T12:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/edc\/?p=23565"},"modified":"2021-08-13T10:07:26","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T14:07:26","slug":"resources-for-your-students-learning-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/2020\/resources-for-your-students-learning-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Resources for your students learning online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we move towards online courses for the summer term, we\u2019ve put together some resources to help your students transition to your new classrooms.<\/p>\n<h3>Online Student Success Module<\/h3>\n<p>Encourage\u00a0your students to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.carleton.ca\/2019\/08\/online-student-success-module\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Online Student Success Module<\/a>, a short cuLearn module that goes through the nuts and bolts of learning online. The module features six lessons that explore various tips, including how to effectively manage time, how to optimize learning spaces, how to interact and engage online, and where to seek additional supports. Our online learning support team is on hand to answer questions about technology and what to expect from online courses at Carleton. Students can<a href=\"https:\/\/culearn.carleton.ca\/moodle\/course\/view.php?id=142241\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> register for the module on cuLearn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Online Learning Webinars<\/h3>\n<p>TLS and the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS)<\/a> are hosting webinars on tips and resources to help students succeed in their summer online courses. They&#8217;ll also have the chance to ask questions about online learning. The webinars are scheduled for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday, May 4, 1 \u2013 2 p.m. (Deadline to register is May 4 at 9 a.m.)<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday, May 5, 11 a.m. \u2013 12 p.m. (Deadline to register is May 5 at 9 a.m.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students can <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csas\/learning-support\/registration-webinar-getting-ready-for-online-courses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up for the webinars here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Top 10 Tips<\/h3>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/students.carleton.ca\/2020\/03\/top-ten-tips-to-study-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Top 10 tips to help students study online<\/a>\u00a0provides quick, high-level advice on how to be successful in online courses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we move towards online courses for the summer term, we\u2019ve put together some resources to help your students transition to your new classrooms.
