Do you take an innovative approach to your teaching, whether it\u2019s through your course design, assessment methods or use of technologies? Or have you engaged in a collaborative teaching project to enhance student learning? The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) has issued a call for applications for two awards that may be of interest to you: the D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning and the Alan Blizzard Award in Collaborative Teaching.<\/p>\n

Interested applicants for either award should submit their application dossiers to the Carleton University Teaching Awards Committee (CUTAC) at tls@carleton.ca<\/a> for review by Jan. 15, 2021<\/strong> so committee members can provide feedback and institutional endorsement.<\/p>\n

D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning
\n<\/a>Deadline to submit internally to CUTAC: Jan. 15, 2021
\nDeadline to submit to STLHE: Feb. 26, 2021<\/p>\n

This award recognizes innovative approaches that promote student-centered teaching and learning at the post-secondary level. Candidates do not need to be members of STLHE to apply.<\/p>\n

Winners will receive $2,200 toward travel and registration costs for the annual STLHE conference, a two-year membership to STLHE and a certificate of recognition. As many as five awards are presented annually.<\/p>\n

Alan Blizzard Award in Collaborative Teaching

\nDeadline to submit to STLHE: Feb. 15, 2021<\/p>\n

This award recognizes excellence in collaborative teaching and learning in post-secondary education. The award is open to groups of two or more individuals, at least one of whom must be currently teaching at a Canadian post-secondary institution. The team can be from a single department, faculty or school, or represent interdisciplinary collaboration within or among institutions.<\/p>\n

Winners will present their project at the annual STLHE conference. The team will receive $3,500 for travel and expenses to attend the conference and a certificate of recognition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
