At Teaching and Learning Services (TLS), we offer a wide range of resources and services in support of the university\u2019s teaching and learning activities, ensuring Carleton remains at the cutting edge in Canadian higher education.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As our portfolio continues to evolve, we have made changes to our organization and key service areas that will allow us to take a more focused approach in supporting the diverse Carleton community. TLS will focus on three main service areas under new team names: Digital Learning, Learning Spaces, and Teaching Excellence and Innovation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Digital Learning portfolio, led by Elspeth McCulloch, is made up of elements of the former Educational Development Centre (EDC) and Carleton Online, including technical operations and media production. This team will focus on strategic digital learning initiatives, including the university\u2019s broad educational technology portfolio and media production services.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Learning Spaces portfolio, formerly Instructional Media Services (IMS), continues to be led by Craig Gauthier. In addition to providing front line support to instructors in the classroom, this team will focus on designing,\u00a0renewing\u00a0and maintaining learning spaces at Carleton to ensure the best teaching and learning experience for instructors and students. Carleton University Event Support (CUES), now the TLS Event Support team, continues to provide event support for the Carleton community around campus and in the KM Theatre.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jaymie\u00a0Koroluk\u00a0oversees the Teaching Excellence and Innovation portfolio, which encompasses elements of the former EDC, as well as the Discovery Centre and Carleton Online. This team will work towards enhancing partnerships between students and instructors, supporting instructors and TAs with teaching practice, as well as promoting experiential learning initiatives and the adoption of high-impact practices and immersive learning at Carleton.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In conjunction with the reorganization, we have also launched a\u00a0<\/span>new website<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to better assist the Carleton community in navigating our services and resources for instructors and teaching assistants. This website also reflects our new organizational structure.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
