{"id":43389,"date":"2022-02-01T13:29:43","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T18:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/?p=43389"},"modified":"2022-05-27T10:20:51","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T14:20:51","slug":"tls-by-the-numbers-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/2022\/tls-by-the-numbers-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall 2021 By the Numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) has worked diligently to imagine the future of teaching and learning at Carleton, and is setting the stage to ensure our institution is prepared to take advantage of the valuable lessons learned throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As we progress further into the winter term, let\u2019s take one last look back at fall 2021 and celebrate some of the accomplishments that shaped the term.<\/p>\n<p><strong>690+ Unique Instructors Engaged with TLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TLS continues to support the professional development of Carleton&#8217;s teaching community. In all, TLS had 1,042 unique instructors engaged with TLS staff during the fall 2021 academic term for pedagogical support. Many of these engagements involved multiple touchpoints with TLS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>45 HyFlex Learning Spaces Used<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carleton unveiled a new type of classroom technology in time for the fall term, called &#8220;HyFlex\u2019&#8221; (for hybrid-flexible). This technology was implemented to support student flexibility and support continuity of teaching and learning throughout the pandemic. Additionally, a mobile HyFlex cart was introduced and used in rooms not currently equipped for HyFlex.<\/p>\n<p><strong>160 New SaPP Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carleton continues to be a leader in fostering collaboration between instructors and learners to design courses through the Students as Partners Program (SaPP) \u2013 the largest program of its kind in the country.
