In spring 2027, we anticipate Scantron services will change as the tools and technology underlying the service are at end of life. We will regularly share updates as we move towards changes to the service next spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past year, we&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/assign2-pilot\/\">piloted Assign2<\/a>, a grading workflow tool that includes the ability to process multiple-choice assessments. The pilot was informative and highlighted many strengths of the platform, but also identified several areas that need refinement. A significant concern is ensuring that our campus infrastructure, including the university\u2019s fleet of multifunction devices (scanners\/photocopiers\/printers), can support Assign2\u2019s operation at the volume of the current Scantron service. These devices will be replaced with more capable units later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Scantron service will remain unchanged until spring 2027, we continue to encourage instructors to use Assign2 for its grading workflow functionality. Instructors using Assign2 as a grading workflow tool in large and midsize classrooms regularly report more reliable and efficient grading. Assign2 is also becoming a fully supported enterprise tool available to all instructors and teaching support staff.
