Keegan works in the Department of Equity & Inclusive Communities as the Trans & Non-Binary Inclusion Coordinator. Their mandate is to make Carleton’s campus safer and more accessible for all transgender, non-binary, and gender-non-conforming students, faculty, and staff. That mandate is divided along eight key areas of focus:
- Bathrooms
- Residence
- Athletics
- Health & counselling
- Policy
- Training & education
- Digital infrastructure
- Outreach & communications
In addition to structural work, Keegan consults with units across campus and provides support on a case-by-case basis to staff, faculty, and students. Keegan graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work at Carleton in June 2017.
