In this position, you would help Carleton professor<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/transmedialab\/people\/laura-horak\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laura Horak<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Film Studies) and her research team build the TMP and investigate trans cinema history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Trans, queer, Black, and Indigenous candidates and candidates of colour are especially encouraged to apply.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These two positions could be filled by students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences \/ Faculty of Public Affairs <\/span><b><i>or<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by students in the Faculty of Engineering and Design \/ Faculty of Science. The roles and responsibilities for these positions will be tailored to fit\u00a0 the successful candidate\u2019s skills and experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences or Public Affairs<\/h3>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possible Responsibilities:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research trans film festival programs, films, and filmmakers online<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter information about trans-made films into the Transgender Media Portal<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Test and evaluate the database tool<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Present the project at the annual Ottawa-Carleton School District Annual Rainbow Forum<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interview trans filmmakers and festival programmers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help organize a public screening event at a local high school<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinate the TMP\u2019s social media presence (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and email list)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research transgender digital security and privacy concerns<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contribute to requirements and policy recommendations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write blog entries about your work on the TMP for the project website<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Present the project at the year-end I-CUREUS symposium<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previous skills and experience:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"
