During this period, Bennett collected newspaper clippings he found interesting from the\u00a0<em>Uganda Argus\u00a0<\/em>up to his departure from Uganda in 1972. The archival clippings provide\u00a0insight into Ugandan popular political opinion leading up to and during the Asian expulsion.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/uganda-collection\/archival-material\/the-hempel-collection-looking-in-from-the-outside\/\">The Hempel Collection: Looking in from the Outside<\/a><br \/>\nPaul Hempel collected hundreds of newspaper clippings in Canadian, British, and United States newspapers throughout the expulsion period. The clippings provide a daily account of the news being reported about the expulsion from the expulsion announcement through to resettlement stories in Canada and the U.K.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/uganda-collection\/seven-crested-cranes-roger-st-vincent\/\">Seven Crested Cranes: Roger St. Vincent\u00a0<\/a><br \/>\nA memoir written by Roger St. Vincent, Team Leader for Canada&#8217;s Mission to Kampala, Uganda in the fall of 1972. Mr. St. Vincent&#8217;s memoir details the daily activities of the Canadian immigration office and the issues faced by the immigration team throughout the expulsion period.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/uganda-collection\/longue-pointe-log-book\/\">The Longue-Pointe Log Book<\/a><br \/>\nRecorded by Chief Warrant Officer Randall of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Longue-Pointe log book is a register of Ugandan Asian refugees who arrived at Longue-Pointe\u00a0reception centre from September to November of 1972.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/uganda-collection\/related-material-library-and-archives-canada\/\">Related Photos: Library and Archives Canada<\/a><br \/>\nA series of photographs taken by the Department of National Defence at the Longue-Pointe reception centre in the fall of 1972.
