Students interested in being considered for spots or openings in future cohorts should contact the Program Coordinator<\/a> for application information.<\/p>\n

Students must meet the entry requirements listed below and be approved by the CREATE co-applicant committee. In addition to the normal application information required by the host university, students must also provide a detailed statement of intent addressed to the UTILI Program.<\/p>\n

Program Admissions Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n
Average (international student)<\/td>\n87%+ or<\/strong> 2 to 4 years\u2020<\/sup> of significant relevant experience\u2021<\/sup><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Average (domestic student)<\/td>\n83%+ or<\/strong> 2 to 4 years\u2020<\/sup> of significant relevant experience\u2021<\/sup><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\u2020<\/sup>Up to 2 years for a master\u2019s applicant, and up to 4 years for a PhD applicant.<\/p>\n

\u2021<\/sup>Applicants must demonstrate that they have significant relevant experience in the degree program they are applying for.<\/p>\n

Language Requirements for International Applicants<\/h3>\n

To be considered for the NSERC CREATE UTILI Program, all international applicants must provide proof of language proficiency if they have attended an institution where English or French was not the official language of instruction. Results from only one test are required.<\/p>\n

*<\/sup>Depending on the institution being applied to, students may be exempt from TOEFL or IELTS if they have recently<\/u> attended an institution where English<\/strong> was the official language of instruction.<\/p>\n

**<\/sup>Candidates who have graduated or are in the process of graduating from a French<\/strong>-language CEGEP may already meet the French language requirements.<\/p>\n

Note<\/u>: All language tests must have been completed in the past 24 months.<\/p>\n

Additional Requirements<\/h3>\n

Students applying for their PhD are required to have at least one peer-reviewed publication in a reputable journal.<\/p>\n
