As a member of the Advanced Cognitive Engineering (ACE) laboratory, he specializes in researching human factors in aviation, particularly situational awareness, cognitive workload, and decision making in inhabited and uninhabited aircraft pilots alike. His thesis on human factors affecting remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) operators during beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations will be conducted under the joint supervision of Prof. Chris Herdman and Dr. Kathleen Van Benthem.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2021, Louis-\u00c9ric graduated from the University of Toronto (UofT) with an honours Bachelor of Science in cognitive science and psychology. During his time at UofT, he was involved with the visual cognition laboratory studying the relationship between attention and decision making. Before joining UofT, he obtained an aviation college degree from the <em>Centre Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de Formation A\u00e9ronautique<\/em> (CQFA), the province of Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s national flying school affiliated with the C\u00c9GEP de Chicoutimi.<\/p>\n<p>Louis-\u00c9ric holds a Transport Canada RPAS pilot certificate for advanced operations with a flight reviewer rating. He also holds an airline transport pilot license (ATPL) and logged over 7000 flight hours on various transport category aircrafts (e.g., A320, A330, B737).
