What is Ventus?

Ventus is a new one-stop academic accommodation management tool to help you manage and keep track of your accommodations in your courses throughout the term.

Why we are moving to Ventus?

  • An identified need for a more efficient system to create a better overall user experience for all stakeholders in the accommodations process.
  • Feedback from faculty regarding having a tool that gives them access to all Letters of Accommodation in one place.
  • Provide students with more control over which accommodations they need on a per-course and per-test basis.

Functions/Benefits of Ventus for Students

  • Ability to identify a new disability and upload documentation.
  • Receive email notification when your disability documentation expires (if applicable).
  • See your template exam and teaching accommodations. Some accommodations are pre-approved while other accommodations require approval from your PMC coordinator.
  • Review upcoming appointments with your PMC coordinator, learning strategist and other staff at PMC.
  • Select exam and teaching accommodations for each course at the beginning of the term.
  • Opt-out of accommodations for a course, a test or an exam if you choose.
  • Keep track of accommodations for all your courses during the term in real time and in one single place.
  • Confirm participation and accommodation for each test or exam scheduled at MEC.
  • View tests and exams scheduled at the McIntyre Exam Centre (MEC) including start/end times and locations.
