- How can I sponsor a child to come to camp? What benefits are there to sending a child to Virtual Ventures?
-
Sponsoring a child to come to camp is a great way to contribute to the Virtual Ventures community and the larger Ottawa community.
Some of the benefits to the child of attending Virtual Ventures camp include an improved confidence in science and computer technology skills, and gaining new skills, making new friends and experiencing a bit of university life.
Some of the benefits you may enjoy from sponsoring a child to come to camp include a feeling of pride and satisfaction, a charitable tax receipt you may use for income tax purposes, updates on the camp and a formal thank you letter from camp directors. Your donation of $200 or more will be recognized on a VV donor list online or in newsletters and final reports. Gifts may be made anonymously. Please visit our Sponsorship Page.
- I'm interested in donating materials, supplies or equipment to Virtual Ventures. How would I go about this and what sort of recognition is available?
-
Virtual Ventures is always looking for materials, supplies and equipment to successfully run our camp and deliver high quality programming. If you are interested in donating items in-kind please contact Virtual Ventures directors by phone at 613-520-2600 x5007 or by e-mail at vv@carleton.ca. For in-kind donations valued at $200 or more recognition will be available as a listing of your name, company name or logo on our website, as well as in any newsletters sent throughout the year and in final reports. Again sponsorship may be made anonymously if desired. Please contact us regarding charitable tax receipts.
Please note: We do not accept donations of old computer equipment as Carleton University has been generous enough to donate many labs for our use.
- I'm interested in being a mentor for one of your camp programs. How can I get more information?
-
Virtual Ventures is always excited to have mentors for our camp programs. If you like working with children, and have an interesting career, job or hobby relating to engineering or technology we would be delighted to have you visit. To get more information please visit the Mentor Section of our website.
