PA Day Camps

Virtual Ventures PA Day Camps are a fun, hands-on event that encourages students to get interested and involved in STEM.

Activities

Beakers, Rockets, Amplifiers:	The day will be a combination of self-discovery activities and instructor-led workshops! Self-discovery activities are intended to allow students to explore the limits of existing knowledge and develop new skills. Instructors-led workshops consist of a lesson followed by a hands-on activity. Both the activities and the workshops will take place both on and off the computer in which students will learn about computer programming, engineering, technology, and science.
Venture Girls:	The day will be a combination of self-discovery activities and instructor-led workshops with a female industry mentor! Self-discovery activities are intended to allow students to explore the limits of existing knowledge and develop new skills. Instructors-led workshops consist of a lesson followed by a hands-on activity. Both the activities and the workshops will take place both on and off the computer in which students will learn about computer programming, engineering, technology, and science.
Future Engineers:	Become an engineer for the day! The day will feature different activities and exploration opportunities with an industry mentor! Take a tour of the exciting engineering labs on campus (racecars, rockets, flight simulators, and more!). Activities will take place both on and off the computer in which students will learn about computer programming, engineering, technology, and design. Engineering design workshops will challenge the students to solve a problem and build the best solution possible!
Leading the Way:	Learn about engineering and leadership! The day will feature leadership activities and exploration opportunities with an industry mentor! Take a tour of the exciting engineering labs on campus (racecars, rockets, flight simulators, and more!). Engineering design workshops will challenge the students to solve a problem and build the best solution possible! Present your idea to the room and learn valuable public speaking skills. Leading the Way participants will have lunch in the Carleton cafeteria!

Youth in grades 1-12

Food

Lunch will be provided!
Students are encouraged to bring their own nut-free snacks and a reusable water bottle

Location

We have camps hosted at Carleton University, and 1 camp hosted in Kanata!

Cost

Regular Camp Day (9am-4pm)	$40	A regular camp day is 9am-4pm
Extended Care Camp Day Add-On (8am-5pm)	$5	Adding the extended care option will allow parents to pick up starting at 8am and pick up until 5pm

Cancellation Policy

To refund the cost to your credit card	Cancellations will have a fee of $15/camp to cover the admin costs associated with all registrations.
To refund the cost to your Active account to be used later	There is no fee to keep the cost on your Active account as a credit. Credits do not expire and can be used on summer camps, clubs, and future PA day camps.
