If you missed last week’s Coffee Break, not to worry – not only will we be ramping up to host more of them more often, but today you can find out what you missed! If you were there, here is a short recap of what happened.
CMS has updated
As you may already know, Carleton CMS recently underwent a few updates. Due to a plugin-related emergency, the sites needed to be moved over before we had the chance to thoroughly communicate the changes with all of you! Last week Troy gave us an overview of the benefits of the upgrade, which include increased security, more intuitive features, and simplicity of navigation. To learn more about what you can do in the new CMS environment, please take a look at the new documentation in the CMS Help Center.
Andrew talked to us a bit about e-commerce. The notes are here!
What’s coming up?
Metrics and Reports
We are working on giving you a monthly or bi-monthly metrics package for your site! Combining reports from Google Analytics and a service called SiteImprove, you will be able to check your website for accessibility and overall quality assurance.
E-commerce x Events Calendar
In the near future, expect to be able to submit your event to the University Events Calendar while hooking it in with e-commerce.
By the end of this month, you will be able to work together on tasks and projects with colleagues online using cuCollab. Here is some more information.
Carleton University is designing a new look! You can expect to start seeing this by the end of the summer with the launch of the new homepage, which will be followed by a new design for all Carleton websites. More details to come.
Thanks for reading! We would love to hear your feedback on these and other related topics. Feel free to send us an e-mail here.
