There are two ways you can create a post or story; from the dashboard navigation area or through the Admin Bar that is accessible while browsing the front-facing side of the website.
It is the same process for creating a post and story.
Create a New Post
To Create a New Post from the Dashboard Navigation
- From the Main Navigation Panel, hover over Posts and click Add New.
- Another way to create a new post from the Dashboard Navigation is by selecting All Posts, then clicking Add New at the top of the All Posts page.
To Create a New Post using the Top Admin Bar
- Move your mouse to the top admin bar and hover over the + New option.
- From the expanded menu, click Post.
Save, Schedule, and Publish a Post
Saving your post as a draft gives you the option of opening it up at a later date and continuing to create content without the post being visible on the site. Publishing your post makes it immediately visible on the live site.
To Save your Post in Draft Form:
- Create a new post.
- In the top right corner, select Save Draft.
- Click Preview to view your saved draft. ****no preview button available rn
- Even though you can view this draft, it is not visible on the live site until you publish it.
To Return to a Saved Draft:
- Click Posts in the Main Navigation Panel.
- At the top of the list, you will see a filter for Drafts.
- Click on Drafts and enter the post name into the search bar, or scroll through the list to find your post.
To Publish a Post:
- From the top menu bar, click Publish.
To Set Publishing Dates or Schedules:
You may continue to edit or add content to this post before it goes live without affecting the schedule.
1. Create a new post.
2. Open the document settings by selecting the cog icon on the right side.
3. Select Status and Visibility.
4. Click the Immediately link located next to ‘Publish’.
5. From the drop down menu select the month, insert the date, year and the time you would like the post to go live.
Stick the Post at the Top of a Page
To make a post sticky means that it will always appear first in a post listing on a page.
- Open the post you want to be at the top of the page.
- Open the document settings by selecting the cog icon on the right side.
- Select Status & Visibility.
- Under publish, select stick to the top of the blog.
- Now the post will appear at the top of the post listing.
