The graph illustrates the decreasing value of the British pound during a period of high volatility.<\/p>\n

At the time of the referendum the pound was doing relatively well, as represented by a high spike in the line graph. This was under the assumption the electorate would vote to stay in the European Union. The value is shown to immediately plummet followed by varying peaks and troughs until the end of 2018.<\/p><\/dd>
