Roxy is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, who is skilled at active tricks and has limitless energy! Roxy spent most of her time as a Therapy Dog in the Science Student Success Centre, but also began the cool initiative of visiting in the campus greenhouse! She always got so excited to meet as many students as possible – and was able to flex between zen dog and playful, maybe even throwing a ball or two!
Did you know that spending as little as 5-10 minutes with a Therapy Dog can lower your cortisol levels and increase oxytocin? That means we help to curb the stress response and elicit the relaxation response! Biology is so cool! If you are curious about all this, you can still ask Roxy’s handler, Kyle Biggar all of the bio questions because he is the expert!
