What is your favourite thing about the program?

My favourite thing about the WGST and DBST was the classes! The subject matter of each class I took was something new and was exciting to learn.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss the Carleton community and the experience of being a university student at Carleton!

Favourite place on campus?

My favourite place on campus is the art gallery. I loved experiencing the artist’s perceptive on real world issues, through art.

What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?

My favourite book from the program was the graphic novel, Paying for it by Chester Brown. I read this while taking a class with Prof. Megan Rivers-Moore in my second year. I loved this book because it was a first-hand account of sex work expressed through mostly art and minimal text. It was such a fun and interesting read!

What’s next for you?

I will be continuing my studies at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, in the Human Resource Management graduate program. I hope to eventually work with social organizations that are focussed on helping marginalized communities.
