Citizenship, transnationalism, global media and popular culture. My current research interests is exploring how LGBTQ+ refugees in Canada exercise and perform their gender and sexual identity within Canada’s settler colonial frameworks, while also being homonationalized in the process. Other areas of interests are queer theory, critical race theory, and political economy or development.
Something I like about the program: The Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies has helped me contribute in a way that I never thought I could because I am with people who believe I can.”
