The Indigenous Youth Futures Partnership is organized around four themes that will guide the research activities, includingpicture4

(1) Encouraging Youth Empowerment and Well-being,

(2) Building Resilience and Supportive Relationships within
Communities,

(3) Facilitating Economic Development and Good Governance, and

(4) Privileging Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being.

Although these themes are distinct, they are not independent of one another. Change in any given area (e.g., building trust and respect among community members) likely influences the success of actions taken to achieve change in others (e.g., achieving cultural safety). We anticipate that communities will ‘walk through’ the circle in various ways. Only the community can determine the most appropriate points of intervention, and how to shape and implement programs to achieve agreed upon outcomes.
