The Institute of Environmental and Interdisciplinary Science is a research active, interdisciplinary, Institute within the Faculty of Science at Carleton University.   Two undergraduate programs are offered by the Institute,  Environmental Science and Interdisciplinary Science and Practice.  We offer two Certificate programs in Science and Policy and Science Communication.

The Institute is highly collaborative and at Carleton, has forged linkages with many academic disciplines. This includes non-zero cross-appointments in academic departments to facilitate research, including Biology, Earth Sciences, and Geography, notable in terms of interdisciplinarity as being a unit in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
