India is emerging as an exciting market for Canadian technology startups. The country is the fastest growing economy in the world with significant market size, especially in IoT, Clean Tech, Health Tech, Financial Tech, and Education Tech. With rapid and strong projected growth in the adoption of smartphones, internet technologies, consumer electronics, and banking services, Canadian startups have an unprecedented opportunity to build long-term, sustainable operations in India.

However, India is also home to a very diverse population and a complex business culture. The Canada-India Centre, in partnership with Carleton University’s Lead-to-Win accelerator, is pleased to host a one-day session to provide an overview of success factors for entering the Indian market. The session will bring experts from India and Canada to cover topics that include:

  • Understanding the startup ecosystem in India
  • Identifying and communicating with buyers and investors
  • Branding your product by understanding Indian cultural symbols and practices
