Aly holds a Bsc. (2007) in Architectural Engineering, from ASU (Ain Shams University), Egypt. In (2011), he was awarded M.sc. in Architectural Engineering & Environmental Design, AASTMT (Arab Academy for Science & Technology). He completed a Ph.D. Carleton University under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’Brien and is now doing a post-doc.
He is passionate about issues related to sustainable design, occupant behavior, thermal comfort, underground buildings, air movement, thermal performance, renewable energy, and have worked with Energyplus and DesignBuilder software packages. Moreover, he has experience about tools of environmental laboratory such as (Environmental chamber, Hot Box). Ali is working on advanced controls is large buildings to optimize energy use, peak loads, and occupant comfort.
