- What is the Campus Community Campaign?
-
The Campus Community Campaign appeals directly to faculty, staff and retirees who understand Carleton, our endeavours and what it takes to flourish. We know students personally who have benefited from financial assistance made possible by donors. Most importantly, we see the impact our students have on the world – equipped with education and experiences that prepare them to serve our global community.
At Carleton, gifts like yours and their impact are truly here for good – permanent, perpetual, and life-changing for today’s students and future generations. The Campus Community Campaign focuses on the special impact of our campus community members like you.
As a member of our campus community, you’ve seen it – the passion, hard work and ambition our students bring. You see the ideas that are ignited and the big plans that hatch from the interactions and experiences our students enjoy here. You also see how much goes into making a student’s education possible – from scholarships and bursaries that ease financial stress, to relevant and up to date library collections, to the life-changing student experiences that Carleton can offer. That’s why many of us give not only time and talent, but personal resources too, so we can continue to see our campus flourish and our students succeed.
- Why should I give now?
-
There will always be exceptional experiences and innovative projects happening at Carleton that need funding and can have an immediate impact in the lives of Carleton students and researchers. The Campus Community Campaign provides an opportunity to rally together to rouse spirit, inspiration and pride for the wonderful things your gift makes possible.
- Can I choose where my gift will be directed?
-
Absolutely! FutureFunder is your opportunity to give not to Carleton but through it–supporting Carleton-led initiatives that are driving the change our world needs. Visit FutureFunder.ca to search for a cause that is meaningful to you, or view some of our current fundraising priorities here.
- How much should I give?
-
Giving is a very personal decision, and every gift that comes in enhances what we can offer our students, and the learning and teaching opportunities here. Payroll deduction is a convenient way to give, and makes giving affordable, automatic and impactful. Whether you give a one-time gift or take advantage of the payroll deduction option, whenever our community comes together to support a vital fundraising initiative, we have an incredible collective impact.
- Is my gift tax deductible?
-
Yes it is. You’ll receive an official tax receipt for any gift. Payroll deductions will appear on your T4 slip for the corresponding year.
- Can my gift come right off my payroll?
-
Yes! And it’s arguably one of the easiest ways to have an ongoing impact. You can set up a convenient monthly gift through payroll when you donate via FutureFunder.ca, on a pledge card, or by calling the Department of University Advancement – the deductions will appear on your T4 slip for the corresponding year.
- If my financial circumstances change, can I alter my pledge?
-
Of course. Simply contact the Department of University Advancement to change the terms of your gift at any time.
- What happens if I take a leave, retire or go on sabbatical?
-
You can still give, shifting to a payment schedule that works for you. We can set up an ongoing pledge on credit card or by pre-authorized debit from your bank account. One-time gifts can be made by credit card, cheque, or cash.
- What if I have a project of my own that needs funding?
-
We’d love to hear about it, and discuss whether it fits the charitable criteria for Futurefunder.ca, Carleton’s own crowdfunding site. Submit your project to be reviewed by staff in the Department of University Advancement. Be sure to include your contact information in case we have questions.
