Biography

Mark Hutchinson leads the Canada Green Building Council’s (CAGBC) certification programs, supporting the sustainability efforts of Canada’s building sector by helping members recognize how their journey to zero carbon is an integral part of Canada’s national climate commitments. Hutchinson has helped the CAGBC meet increasing demand for certification services, while still ensuring the quality of thousands of building certifications. His leadership in the field of green building research has also led to the development of the Zero Carbon Building Standard, a first-of-its-kind, made-in-Canada framework for decarbonization of the building sector.

A seasoned green building professional, since joining the CAGBC in 2008, Hutchinson has represented the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program in Canada and served as a member and chair of the US Green Building Council’s LEED Steering Committee.
