Wisdom Tettey is the President and Vice-Chancellor of Carleton University, leading the institution’s rise as a hub for innovation and research.
Tettey is dedicated to strengthening Carleton’s role as a globally engaged institution driving knowledge, innovation and real-world impact. Under his leadership, Carleton is advancing AI research and its applications while equipping students to navigate an increasingly digital world.
A distinguished scholar and professor of political science, Tettey holds degrees from the University of Ghana, University of British Columbia and a PhD from Queen’s University. He has advised global organizations, including the World Bank, UN Development Programme, Africa Capacity Building Foundation and International Association of Universities.
With a deep commitment to global engagement, Tettey fosters an environment at Carleton where research, teaching and learning converge to address the world’s most pressing challenges, driving innovations that are shaping a more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable future.
