Please join us on February 9th, 2012 where Dr. Kumiko Murasagi from the School of Linguistics and Language Studies (SLALS) will be speaking on
“Split Ergativity in Inuktitut.”
Inuktitut is considered to be a typical ergative language in which the intransitive subject and object are grouped together with respect to certain properties such as case and agreement. In this talk I explore evidence of split ergativity in the agreement system, based on data from elicitation tasks and narratives.
