Marly Mageau and Can Mekik (both ICS Master’s students) gave a talk at the Ottawa Conference for Linguistics Undergraduate and Master’s students (http://cla-acl.ca/oclum-2015/) on December 5th together with Emily Wang (a Carleton undergraduate student). The title of their talk was “Foreign accent in song and speech”. Kunio Hessel and Lisa Sullivan also gave a talk at the same conference, with Ashley Sokalski as a co-author. Their talk was entitled “The distributivity hierarchy and scope-ambiguities: Allevery, and each in English and Swedish”.  Kunio and Ashley are undergraduate students in ICS, and Lisa is an undergraduate student in SLALS (Linguistics).

Both papers were well received and all the students did an excellent job!
