What does it take to be a truly outstanding TA? Just ask the 3rd year seminar class, Sabrina Di Lonardo’s students:
“Support was truly unparalled.”
“Great environment for an 8:30 class on a Friday morning”
“keeping everyone in the loop”
“always willing to help even if it meant taking hours with a student”
These are just some of the comments students wrote when they nominated Sabrina for the TA Award of Excellence. An outstanding TA communicates clearly and responsively, they grade promptly and fairly, they demonstrate excellence in teaching and create a supportive and respectful learning environment. Sabrina does all this and more. The Institute of Cognitive Science congratulates this year’s TA Award of Excellence recipient, Sabrina Di Lonardo.
The TA Award of Excellence was introduced last year to celebrate the commitment of our cognitive science teaching assistants. Nominations are received from students, fellow TAs and from professors throughout the school year. The selection committee considers both the number and the quality of submissions received in choosing the recipient for the TA Award of Excellence. As you get off the elevators on the 22nd floor of Dunton, look for the plaque that recognizes our outstanding TAs. Whether you’re a professor, an undergraduate or a graduate student, thank your TAs. Sabrina was not the only nominee, we have an excellent team of TAs in the Institute Cognitive Science. Together, let’s celebrate the commitment of all our cognitive science TAs.
