Valerie Danieli
Research Intern
Valerie Danieli achieved a Master of Arts in History at the University of Windsor. Her research focused on colonial racism during turn-of-the-century Latin America as well as the use of media and gender identity in propagating these systems. Valerie’s lived experience has been invaluable to her role as a front-line representative for Toronto Community Housing and a literacy tutor with Literal Change. She has organized several grassroots initiatives to alleviate poverty in her neighbourhood, such as Project Zipper, a community effort to provide winter jackets to less advantaged kids and youth in Scarborough. She serves as co-chair for the Provincial HSJCC Anti-Racism Advisory Committee and is a member of the HSJCC PWLE Advisory Committee. Valerie is committed to improving outcomes for justice-involved people with complex needs. She is currently pursuing her law degree at Osgoode Hall.
