The Digital Pedagogy Project hosted two virtual meetings during the summer months (one in late July, the other in early August) in advance of rolling out the pilot initiatives during the 2023-24 academic year.
All ten instructors associated with the Digital Pedagogy Project participated in one or both of the sessions, and many of them also took this opportunity to introduce the RAs who will be supporting their work. During these meetings, instructors introduced themselves to one another and shared ideas about their project with the larger group. This gave life to stimulating discussions about the role of copyright on course materials, sharing student work outside of the classroom, and the role of technology in course delivery among others. These sessions offered an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn more about the work of those associated with the Digital Pedagogy Project while inspiring the thinking of individual instructors on the development of their own open access materials.
The result is an emerging community of practice that can support instructors as they roll out their new pedagogical approaches during either the fall or winter semester of the upcoming academic year.
