What are transferable skills and why do they matter for research assistants? As a part of our broader research initiative, the Digital Pedagogy Project is developing an open-access module on transferable skills for research assistants. Inspired by the need for more pedagogical support for research assistants at Carleton University (and elsewhere), this module speaks to the hard/soft skills developed and the practice of reflection. We also aim to help research assistants hone how they communicate the experience of the RAship, the skills they acquire, and beyond. Over the next few weeks we will be gathering our research partners to workshop the module and learn more about how it can reflect the experiences of our teaching and research community.

The workshop, titled “From Research Assistantships to Beyond: Transferable Skills, Reflexivity, and Communication for RAs”, will take place on March 28, 2004 at 11:00am ET. For more information on the workshop or if you’d like to attend, be in touch with the Digital Pedagogy Project research team.
