In the fall term, our project hosted Valerie Critchley, Carleton’s Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian for a session on copyright. Valerie offered a comprehensive overview of legal underpinnings of copyright, the scope of copyright laws, and the range of scholarly activities that may involve copyright considerations, from the materials we use as instructors to those we produce as teachers and researchers. Given the moment in time, Valerie also addressed arising considerations surrounding artificial intelligence. The session included valuable information about resources available at Carleton, and you can learn more by reviewing the session slides Valerie kindly agreed to share widely.
