Over the past year, the Digital Pedagogy Project has launched several new stages of our research project. With community connections and open-access resources in mind, the Digital Pedagogy Project is working with instructors and research assistants to create open access educational materials (OERs) as well as multimedia pedagogical resources for the Carleton University community. Here are the DPP’s top 5 highlights of 2023:

5. Ten research partners from across different faculties at Carleton University have been recruited as participants for the project.

4. Pilot projects implemented by instructors and research assistants that develop OERs in both graduate and undergraduate classes are underway.

3. Two project workshop sessions have been developed and delivered. The first workshop was Dr. Melanie Coughlin’s workshop on fostering accessibility with open access materials. Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian Valerie Critchley also led a workshop on copyright for the project members.

2. The DPP project website was announced and launched. There are (as of now) ten different blog posts with updates about the project and preliminary research findings.

1. The DPP team is developing new materials, post-pilot interview questions, and OER modules to initiate the next phase of the research project in 2024!

With 2023 coming to a close, the DPP team looks forward to sharing information from workshops, research findings, and open access material in the new year. Stay tuned for more to come!
