On May 30, 2018 we attended the second annual Life Sciences Day in Richcraft Hall (formerly River Building) to share CUDRG’s past, present and ongoing research.
Similar to last year, we displayed the physical version of “Envisioning Technologies” and one panel on “A Wheelchair History of Disability.”
This time around, we also presented our newest exhibition Refugees, Disability and Technology in Transnational Postwar Canada, 1946-1953 on a laptop for an online, interactive experience. We also offered pamphlets and information on new Carleton courses, offered Summer 2018, taught by CUDRG members: Sandy Barron’s HIST 3907B “History of Disability” and Beth Robertson’s HIST 3907A “The Public History of Technology”.
Dr. Adrian Chan also presented his latest research on a panel entitled, “Healthy Populations.”
The event brought together a variety of disciplines and we spoke to scholars, students, and interested community members about disability, research, and public history. It was great to participate in this event again!
