Here’s what’s making news in the CUDRG as of now. CUDRG: Spring Bulletin

Elevator news:
Dominique promised to keep you informed of the project on the accessibility of the elevator in Patterson Hall. It is looking very good as of today. Gary Nower, Assistant Vice-President (Facilities Management and Planning), has authorized the money. Trevor Miller, the elevator consultant, has produced a report on the state of the elevator. Ke Wang and Rob Dotten, the designers of the phone application, will finalize the agreement with Gary Nower, write a “SCOPE”, meet with Adrian for the research part of the project. When it is ready, hopefully this Summer, they will test it. They are aiming at a September launch.
The CUDRG is documenting the story for an additional series of panel in its virtual exhibit, A Wheelchair History of Disability . Dean Mellway is following the project, in the name of READ.

Multidisciplinary Research Catalyst Fund:
Congratulations to Adrian who has coordinated the project of the “Canadian Accessibility Network” team which has won one of the 7 “Catalyst Fund” award of $ 50 000 in order to prepare a larger grant application. The CUDRG figures amongst the main partners, and CUDRG members Roy and Dominique re amongst the 10 members. Much of the good work of the CUDRG has helped forge the partnerships and imagine the possibilities now included in this project. Please write to Adrian for more information.
