Biography
Dr. Villeneuve obtained his training from the University of Waterloo (B.Math 1992), University of Ottawa (M.Sc., 1995), and University of Toronto (Ph.D., 2000). He undertook postdoctoral work in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa in 2000, and was a Senior Research Scientist in the Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch of Health Canada. He was accredited as a Professional Statistician (P.Stat) by the Statistical Society of Canada in 2006. He joined the Department of Health Sciences at Carleton University in July 2013.He has authored or co-authored on more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and has presented his research at numerous national and international meetings. He is currently supervising graduate students in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and is on the thesis research committees of epidemiology students at the University of Alberta, and University of Toronto. He currently has funding for his research from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute, the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Canadian Nuclear Labs, and the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. He also is a member of Health Canada’s Wind Turbine Noise and Health Study Expert Committee. He currently serves of the editorial boards of the journals Environmental Research, Canadian Journal of Public Health, and Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention. He has adjunct appointments in Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health McGill University in Montreal and the Department of Public Health Sciences at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
