UPCOMING RESEARCH CONFERENCE: Regionalism in Eurasia

The Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations is hosting a young scholars one-day research conference. The theme of the conference is “Regionalism in Eurasia.”

About the Conference: The research conference will be an interdisciplinary forum where junior scholars (graduate students and young scholars) from different fields come together and share their scholarship.

The Eurasian region represents a unique geopolitical grouping of states whose historical legacies and institutional shapes inform the changes and challenges to cooperation. Eurasia provides a unique case study of overlapping regionalisms pursued by three core actors: the European Union, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.

REMINDER: Anti-Genderism in Today's Europe Symposium this Friday

The Centre for European Studies Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is hosting a one-day symposium on Anti-Genderism in Today’s Europe, with scholars joining us from Hungary, Brussels and Munich. The symposium presenters are: David Paternotte, Associate Professor in Sociology at the Universite libre de Bruxelles; Paula-Irene Villa (Braslavsky), professor and chair for Sociology and Gender Studies at LMU Munchen; and Andrea Peto, Professor in the Department of Gender Studies at Central European University.

Jean Monnet Summer School on Transatlantic Trade Politics

The Jean Monnet Network on Transatlantic Trade Politics is pleased to announce its second annual summer school, which will take place at Carleton University in Ottawa/Canada on July 6-12, 2023. Designed for MA and early-stage PhD students, the summer school focuses on the political economy of transatlantic trade; topics discussed include the politicization of trade relations, the growing importance of geopolitical concerns, debates about inclusive trade, and the nexus between trade and identity. The summer school will be taught by professors from the universities involved in the Jean Monnet Network, as well as invited experts.
