Monserrat Ramirez Ruvalcaba is a recent graduate from the Master’s program in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from McMaster University in 2023. Her master’s thesis research focused on exploring the relationship between acculturation and wellbeing for international students at Canadian universities with the goal of redefining the current understanding of cultural negotiation and adaptation for temporary residents.

Her work with the IDRC Research Chairs on Forced Displacement project involves knowledge mobilization and dissemination as well as supporting special projects for the Network’s Secretariat Team. She is also the Spanish liaison for the Research Chairs representing the Latin American regions of the Global South.
