Carleton University Bachelor of Humanities Alumni Chapter presents a free public reading by Saleema Nawaz (BHum 2003) from her recent, acclaimed novel, Bone and Bread (House of Anansi Press, 2013).
Saleema Nawaz’s first book of short stories, Mother Superior, won the prestigious Writers’ Trust of Canada / McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize. Her stories brim with exotic and challenging characters, facing harsh realities often of their own creation.
The reading will be followed by a Question and Answer session with award winning local poet, David O’Meara, whose publications include: Drunken Boat, Storm Still, The Vicinity, Noble Gas, Penny Black.
Light refreshments and a book signing to follow.
