FPA alumni were among Carleton’s first students, studying journalism and public policy in downtown Ottawa in the 1940s. The number of degree programs grew, and in 1997, the Faculty of Public Affairs (FPA) brought together twelve units that deal directly with government, civil society, and the relationship between the two.

Today, we boast an alumni community that’s more than 34,246. And includes well-known journalists, top government leaders, diplomats, and many more graduates who are making an important contribution to our society.
