As a graduate of Health Sciences with a concentration in Chronic Illness and Disability at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, Chelsea wishes to further investigate the different variables affecting accessibility to health services and the health of youth in rural populations. Chelsea’s interest in this field stems from a course taken in the Social Determinants of Health that explored how the intricate interactions between the individual and their environment can affect a person’s health and wellbeing. These may include the places people live and the circumstances that shape an individual. As a result, she’s extremely excited to be working with Free Range for her undergraduate research thesis where she will be designing youth health services for ‘hard to reach’ rural populations. By targeting individuals that are not typically accounted for in health service designs, she aspires to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. “I’m very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with Free Range on this important initiative!”
