Degrees: | M.A. Forensic Psychology (Carleton), B.A. in Psychology & Criminology (Wilfrid Laurier University) |
Ace completed his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Criminology with a Research Specialization at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2023. He is now a master’s student in forensic psychology at Carleton University, working under the supervision of Dr. Shelley Brown.
Research: For Ace’s honours thesis, he performed a thematic analysis on interviews he conducted with non-binary people about their experiences of “passing”, and the concealment and expression of their gender identity. For his master’s thesis, he will be evaluating whether clients of a probation model informed by pillars of trauma, diversity, and inclusivity, have changed on rehabilitative domains.
Future Goals: Once Ace has completed his master’s degree, he hopes to pursue a Ph.D. to continue his research on rehabilitative practices in the criminal justice system.
